Erie Railroad Biography - W.H. Labar


From the July, 1906 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine (Huntington News):
Engineer W.H.C. Labar, who has been running train 80 in place of the regular engineer, has been earning honors for himself by making some of the swiftest runs ever made on that schedule.




From the March, 1915 issues of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Chicago & Erie Division Engineer W.H.C. LaBar, running engine #2003, was listed as being in the Order of the Red Spot for February, 1915. The Order was an honor bestowed on engine crews who operated efficiently with few engine failures.




From the May, 1934 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine (Hammond News):
W.H.C. LaBar, engineer, was off duty 30 days, due to illness.




From the March, 1935 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Engineer W.H.C. LaBar of Huntington is off-duty due to illness.




From the May, 1935 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Marion Division Engineer W.H.C. LaBar of Huntington was placed on the special allowance payroll and retired recently at age 69 after 44 years, one month of service.
