Entered the service as freight brakeman, Lima Division, March 30th, 1894. Age 34, married, two children. Entered as extra passenger brakeman June 15th, 1897. Assigned to regular run as brakeman in through passenger service May 9th, 1900. 04/13/1902, assigned extra passenger brakeman. 06/15/1902, promoted to regular run as passenger brakeman.

W.H. MacDowell, retired passenger conductor, died at his home in Goshen, IN July 29, 1933. He began as freight brakeman in 1893 and was retired from active service in 1929.
