Entered service 10-6-1888 as brakeman. Promoted to freight conductor Dec. 5th, 1889.

Suspended 30 days March 10th, 1890 for allowing his train 4th 86 to descend grade at Levings at too high a rate of speed resulting in a rear end collision with 3rd 86. Bill made against him for $5.88 for hauling car from Griffith to Chicago and return through error - he did not set car off which was billed, train 2nd 85, July 4th, 1890. He was also advised that a reoccurence of the offense would not be liable to be overlooked with a suspension or fine.

Suspended 10 days Jan. 6th for blocking Michigan Central at Hammond delaying MC trains. Suspended 7 days from Nov. 22nd for failing to make proper reports of accident to his train on the C&WI Railroad Nov. 20th, 1893. Burned a journal off NYP&O ED 4867 at Wilders on No. 86, Feb. 11th, 1894. Resigned May 28th, 1894.
