Erie Railroad Biography - W.J. Ziegler

Mahoning Division Engineer W.J. Ziegler of Meadville, PA was retired recently under the new Federal Railroad Retirement statutes at age 74 after 53 years, 1 month of service.

William J. Ziegler, 80, engineer and fireman on the Erie for 54 years, died at his home, 246 Locust Street, Meadville, April 7 (1943). He retired some time ago.

Mr. Ziegler was a member of St. Agatha's R.C. Church, the Erie Railroad Veterans' Association, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Surviving are his widow, Anna Joyce Ziegler, two daughters, Miss Marguerite Ziegler, at home, Mrs. Edward S. Ryan, Oil City, and three grandchildren.
