Erie Railroad Lakes Line - F.D. UNDERWOOD

The flagship of the line is the steamer F.D. UNDERWOOD, named in honor of our President. This boat was built in 1896; its original name was "Ramapo;" it has a gross tonnage of 3,3l4 tons and general carrying capacity of package freight of 4,000 tons; 344 feet in length, 44-foot beam and 28-foot depth, and, with the extensive improvements made this year, makes it one of the best types of freight boats in the Great Lakes service.
