DELAWARE & SUSQUEHANNA DIVISIONSHornell Shop Clerical Staff
The 1941 "A" and "B" rosters cover 434 employees (mostly clerical) active on the Delaware and Susquehanna Divisions as well as the Hornell District as they existed in 1941. The purpose of the "A" and "B" lists was to determine seniority of employees on each division. While the significance of the "A" and "B" is not known, it appears that the "A" list shows that the two operating divisions were dove-tailed together March 16, 1932. The "B" list shows that the Hornell District was apparently dove-tailed into the roster with the other two divisions on September 1, 1936. The oldest seniority date can determine which division the employee is from. These rosters were contributed by Robert Bahrs, and I am indebted to him for both the information as well as the interpretation!
