Sproston Genforum - on-line Sproston genealogy forum, post your questions here. freeBMD - UK Births, Deaths & Marriages, constantly updated. Now covers 1837 to 1983, although not complete. CheshireBMD - as above, but slightly more detail and just for Cheshire StaffordshireBMD - see above. ISTG The Compass - free site with immigration records 1901 UK census - online and complete. Partly free to view. 1901 Census Decoder - located here 1881 UK census - at the LDS site, completely free to view. The site also has IGI information. Census On-line - a site dedicated to finding free census transcriptions on the internet. Central Look-up Exchange - there are others, but this co-ordinates look-ups for each UK county. Commonwealth War Graves Commission - records of all soldiers who died in last century's wars. Middlewich Cemetery site - free burials information for Middlewich St Michael's, being constantly updated. Cheshire Wills Database - view wills held by Cheshire Council and order on-line. Genealogy links site - links from around the world, ordered by country and county/state Cheshire Parish Register Project - currently off-line but promises to hold free Cheshire parish transcriptions Database of UK Mining Deaths - this site aims to record all mining deaths from an early date, more info is available on individuals on request Ellis Island - free searchable database containing information on people entering the US via Ellis Island (certain dates only) Mick Gray's Genealogy - links to free on-line births, deaths and marriages, census and other transcriptions from around the UK Anzacs.org - site devoted to the commemoration of those Australians who died in WW1. Penny's Northwich pages - a fascinating historical site centred around Northwich. Staffordshire Past Track - huge database of Staffordshire history, including archive film and photos. The Potteries.org - everything you ever wanted to know about Stoke-on-Trent's history. Cheshire GENUKI Home Page - the definitive starting place for Cheshire genealogy.
