Kenneth died October 16, 1939 in the Bellevue Hospital in New York City as the result of a head injury. He was 23 years of age.

Private Stahlman had been located in Fort DuPont, Del., with the H and S Company and had accompanied his company to New York City where they were preparing to leave for Puerto Rico when he was injured and taken to the hospital where he died.
