Frank was born July 10, 1901 at Breda, Iowa, the first child of Clemens Anton and Anna Mary Schelle Stallman. He was raised in the Breda, Iowa-Iona, Minnesota area before moving to Lyman County with his parents in 1910. There, he attended school until the eighth grade then quit to help work on the family farm and for others to help supplement the family income. Once grown, he returned to Minnesota where he worked as a farmhand.

He married Regina Cecelia ROEDER of Wilmont Township Nov. 10, 1936 at St. Killian, Nobles County, Minn. Regina was born Jan. 30, 1900 at St. Killian to Joe (1858-1941) and   Anna DUWENHOEGGER Roeder (1836-1940.) They always commented that Frank had said he wanted to marry a woman from a big family, and he did. Regina came from a family of 14 children! He said he figured that if he married someone from a big family he would belong to a big family without all of the trials and tribulations.  Frank and Regina, however, only had the two children.

Uncle Frank was the family moonshiner, or maybe he was just the only one who ever got caught. I suppose at that time it was a mortal sin to be found out, but today, it is kind of funny to read about it. Documentation shows that all of his tools of the trade as well as the end product were confiscated by the authorities. The still was on his brother Lawrence's place northeast of Reliance. I was also told that it really wasn't Uncle Frank's still, but it was discovered on Lawrence and Ida's wedding day and someone had to save the day. Enter Frank. So, I guess at this late date, just make up your own story.

Aunt Regina, as I remember her, was quite reserved, or an introvert, for lack of a better word. She had a glass eye that she was very self-conscious about. I remember they always seemed to sit in the house with all of the shades  drawn. She did have a sense of humor though and whenever there was a family reunion at the family farm near Reliance she  loved to tease the little kids with  her eye. She always said she put it in a glass of water beside her bed overnight to keep an eye on everyone. You can be assured not a one of us even dared peek in their room and speculate about that eye (and what would happen if we did peek,) ran rampant. Whether or not she kept it in a glass of water, I guess we will never know. The last time I visited Theresa she is now the owner of the eye and she has fun with it as her mother did before her.

Frank and Regina were devout Catholics and, like the others, were farmers. He passed away Dec. 8, 1975, from cancer, at Adrian, Minn.  Regina passed away May 29, 1980, also at Adrian. Both are buried there.

Clella Hale-Stallman-Booton passed away 17 Dec. 2008.  Info from her daughter, Polly Holmes.

2.Theresa Marie Stallman Loring

children:  Tom, Billy, Lisa

Theresa Marie was born Nov. 1, 1942, at Worthington and also attended school at Wilmont and Adrian. She married James Edward LORING Apr. 5, 1962, at West Plains, Missouri. He was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Missouri to Joseph and Barbara Loring.

When last heard, Theresa is employed with the Sather Cookie Company in Round Lake, Minn. and continues to make her home at Adrian.  2009 ... Theresa, like most of us Stallman cousins, has gotten a little bit older now and has retired to her home in Adrian.  (I wonder if she still plays "tricks on people" with her mother's glass eye .....)

She never misses a family reunion and it is always good to visit with her.
