The Minute Book of Cradley Particular Baptist Congregation refers to all James' children as the child of James and Mary. However, David Bright Clift is recorded as being born 14 April 1818 and buried 1821 when aged 2 years 10 months. But "Mary wife of Jas Clift" is recorded as being buried in 1815 aged 48. Therefore, James married again, and his second wife was also Mary.
