Tracy Andrews Released on Bail

Several papers report that Tracy Andrews, charged with murdering her fiance, Lee Harvey, in what police initially identified as a killing provoked by an argument between motorists, has been freed on bail to spend Christmas with her family. Ms Andrews maintains that Mr Harvey was stabbed to death by a passenger of a vehicle the couple's car had overtaken. However, the prosecution said forensic evidence connected her with the murder. The Guardian says her bail conditions stipulate that she does not contact any witnesses in the case. The Daily Mail says the decision to free her prompted a wave of criticism from MPs and lawyers.
