Road rage victim's claim at Tracie trial

A Shropshire businessman has given dramatic evidence at the Tracie Andrews murder trial that he was the victim of a road rage incident hours before Lee Harvey was killed.

Stephen Rodenhurst, of Alveley, was the first witness called by the defence.

The 28 year old single mother, of Alvechurch, has denied murdering Mr Harvey, a 25 year old bus driver, on December 1.

She has claimed he was killed by a mystery man in a road rage attack.

Mr Rodenhurst, who runs a Birmingham-based demolition firm, said he volunteered his evidence after seeing an artist's impression of the man in a newspaper while he was in Tenerife three months later.

He claimed his turbo-charged Bentley was tailgated along the A38 past The Marlbrook pub at Bromsgrove - the pub where the prosecution says Andrews and Mr Harvey were seen arguing on the night of his death - by a dark red Ford Granada. It was 5pm - the murder happened at around 10.30pm.

The car pulled alongside him at Lydiate Ash and there was an argument and threats of violence.

The Granada driver, whom he described as a lunatic, brandished what appeared to be a knife.

Mr Rodenhurst was questioned about his criminal record, which stretched back to 1979 with convictions for assault, handling stolen property, and threatening behaviour. The trial continues.
