Fiancée on trial for “road rage” killing

Fiancée “hid penknife in snakeskin boot”
Turbulent relationship marked by noisy rows

TRACIE Andrews, a former model, slashed her fiancé more than 30 times with a knife and then pretended that he had been killed in a road rage attack, a court was told yesterday.

Lee Harvey was left for dead beside a country lane, clutching strands of his lover's hair. Andrews, 28, allegedly fled the scene with the Swiss Army-type penknife tucked into her high-heeled imitation snakeskin boot, Birmingham Crown Court was told.

She dumped it in a toilet at the hospital where she was being treated for injuries inflicted by Mr Harvey during a furious row just before the murder, the prosecution said.

The ferocious attack on Mr Harvey was the “final and fatal confrontation” of a violent and turbulent relationship. Andrews denies murdering Mr Harvey, 25, on Dec 1 last year as they returned home from a night out at a pub.

She claims that they were pursued for several miles by two men in a dark-coloured saloon car and forced to stop. She says that one of the men stabbed Mr Harvey and punched her in the face when she tried to intervene.
