Photographs of the Staniers of Wolverhampton and Swindon

The photograph below, with a key to the identities of the people shown, was taken at Oakfield, the Swindon home of William Henry Stanier. It shows all the living descendants of Thomas Stanier of Wolverhampton in 1888.

The Staniers of Swindon

This photograph confirms the identity of several people in an album of Cartes de Visite containing cartes taken mostly in Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Swindon. Those I can recognise are:-

	Henry Stanier, 1831 - 1892 Henry was uncle to the adult Staniers in the photograph, and was the British Vice-Consul to Granada. J G Ayola is presumably José García Ayola (1836-1900), a well-known photographer in Granada.
	Emily Douglas, 1847 - 1927 Emily was the wife of Thomas William Stanier
	Thomas William Stanier, 1848 - 1915
	Henry Alfred Stanier, 1852 - 1930
	Caroline Anne Stanier, née North, 1852 - 1930 Caroline was the wife of Henry Alfred Stanier
	Maria Elizabeth Stanier, 1854 - 1947
	Charles Frederick Stanier, 1855 - 1910
	Annie Sarah J Yates Annie was the wife of Charles Frederick Stanier
	Francis John Stanier, 1881 - 1885 Francis was the son of William Henry Stanier and Grace Stanier née Ball.
