This photograph of Thomas Skipper was kept on the wall of the home of his sister Mary Ann. It shows him in the uniform of the Border Regiment, with whom he served until his death in 1916.
When the photograph was removed from its frame for storage, the photograph below was found underneath it. As yet, the woman is unidentified: she is perhaps Thomas's wife Florence, or one of his sisters.
