The location of Darby and Pargeters Colliery is unknown. However, the family was living at Darby Street, Rowley Regis in the 1871 census which may simply be a change of street name. The map of 1887
shows that Darby Street leads down to the Blackheath Colliery. This may be Darby and Pargeter's Colliery under a different name. The area is more clearly shown on the 1902 Map
