My name is Colin Grover and I have lived in Arlesey, Beds. for a number of years and after re mortgaging my house, I received a number of Deeds, one and the oldest of which mentions a Joseph Nathaniel Hall who it says was a Market Gardener of Sandy. It seems that he bought a field or two known as Houghton's field, Butcher's field and an Onion Loft in an area of 8 acres or so, on the corner of what is now Stotfold Road and House Lane in Church End, Arlesey.. This sale was dated July 1909. It dates his death as 10th September 1921, and he passed the land onto his son James William Hall, his son-in-law Rowland Frederick (called Roll) Aubrey, his wife Selina Hall and his friend Percy Noel Binns.
