In the name of god Amen, I Ellen Stonehewer now wife of Joseph Stonehewer senenier
of Sutton in the Countey of Chester being in perfect mind and memory ? and
therefore given to Almighty god Do make and ordain this muy last will and testament
in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I commend my soul
into the hands of almighty god; hoping through the(?) merits death and passion of my
saviour Jesus Christ to have full and ? of all my sins; and to ? to everlasting life;
and my body I commit to your? earth to be decently buried at the direction of my husband.
And as touching the disposition of all such ? estate as it has pleased almighty god to
bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as follows
Item I leave to my Daughter Ann Cheffener fourty shillings a year to be paid to her
? ? Walt (Watt?) Croft during her natural life; to be paid her at too (sic) payments
by her fifteen said ?.
? ? is sixteen shillings over and above the fourty shillings belongng to the
Watt Croft which I ? said to ? towards(?) ? finding Thomas Cheffener
clothes until his apprenteship be out what is wanting(?) is I allow to make out and
when his time is out I ? the said 16 shillings to ?; and at the decease(?) of Daughter
Ann I leave unto Daughter Sara of Watt Croft during her natural life.
And then at Sara's decease/demise(?) I leave it to be equally to be divided betwixt
Ann and Sara children not that my will is it should be sold;
Item I leave Ann a surge(?) suit of clothes with a riding hood and cloth(?) a
suit of plain ? and too ? flock cloth handkerchifs.
Item I leave Sara Cheffener a gray monty and potecoal(?) and a coat(?) & middle
? ? 2 blankets and ? bolster 2 pillows as much cloth as to make her a pair of sheets
2 pillow drawers a pair of bed socks and ? hanging it one at ? bed at ? pairs ? and
a piece of huckaback and a little chest.
And item I leave unto daughter Sara any thing it is mind I ? he may have it.
Item I leave unto Joseph Stonehewer junier a five(?) shilling ? of gold,
to Ellen Jackson senior a white muslin hood and handkerchiff
Ann Stroo(?) I leave my every day mantey(?), black surge polocool(?) cloak and cap hood
a gray silk hankerchiff and ? ? Daughter Sara may have ? of Sara Cheffener ? ? ? to ?
Item I leave my Daughter Sara to be my sole executor and to perform this my will and
? and after my funeral and debts be charged I leave all the remainder to her ? and ?; her children
? April the 5th 1722 in the eight year of our ? ? ? hereof I put my hand and seal
