¹ The household in the 1870 census included a Jane Ross, born 1817 PA. She appears to be a visitor rather than an employee, so perhaps she was Hannah's elder sister. This would explain Jean Ross Staniar's second name, as it would have been her grandmother's maiden name.

Obituary: Jean Staniar Wildrick

WILDRICK - Jean Staniar Wildrick, Jacksonville resident for over 50 years, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2000. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Jean was the daughter of William Staniar, who was the former head of the Mechanical Engineering Department for the DuPont Company, and Ethel Ball. She attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA, where she was Captain of the Womens Field Hockey Team. She was also the Director of The Delaware Antiques Show, one of the foremost antique shows in the United States, for 25 years. In the mid 1920s, her mother, Ethel Ball Staniar established the antique show which was held annually in Wilmington at the Hotel DuPont. Jean was the Technical Advisor in the establishment of the Charlotte Mint Museum Antique Show in Charlotte, NC and an appraiser of silver and antiques for estates in Jacksonville. She was an active member of St. Marks Episcopal Church, the Florida Yacht Club, and the Junior League of Jacksonville. She was on the Board of Directors for the Childrens Home Society of North Florida, Secretary of the English Speaking Union of Florida, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Family Consultation Services. Mrs. Wildrick was predeceased by her husband, Edward W. Wildrick, Jr. on December 12, 1998 and is survived by her sons, Edward W. Wildrick, III (Patricia) of Nashville, TN and William S. Wildrick (Jennifer) of La Jolly, CA; grandchildren, Edward S. Wildrick, Edward W. Wildrick, IV, Charles ' Tad' W. Wildrick II, Ashley E Wildrick and Austin S. Wildrick; and step-grandchildren, Howard J. Nason Jr., Elizabeth C. Pergande, and Carol W. Chitwood. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 1, 2000 at St. Marks Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Childrens Home Society of Florida, Buckner Division, at 3027 San Diego Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Arrangements are being handled by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave.
