In the name of God Amen this five and twentieth day of March in the third yeare of the Raigne of our Sovereigne
Lord and Lady William and Mary by the Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King and Queen Defenders of the
faith etc. Anno Domini One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety One, I John Stanier of
Uppington in the County of Salop Gent, being in perfect health and of sound mind and memory
praised be God for the same and therefore willing to settle my worldly estate with which it has pleased God to bless and
me withall upon my Children so that the same may remain and bee to them in such manner as I by this my Will and Testament
shall limit and appoint whereby a just provision may be made for them all and all differences which hereafter may happen
for want of a right understanding amongst them might cease and may by this my will be avoyded and true love and affection
bee preserved amongst them. And in order thereunto I do in the first place according to my Christian duty bequeath my
Immortal soule unto Allmighty God relying upon the blessed Jesus the only son of God and Redeemer of Mankind for Eternal
Salvation. My body I commit to the Earth to bee decently interred at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named. And as
for touching and concerning all that my real and personall Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Intrust me withall I
do give devise and bequeath the same in manner and forme following.
And first of all I do give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Stanier all that my
Messuage Farme or Tenament with all and every of its appurtenances situate within the township of Wike
in the Parish of Shifnal and County of Salop which I hold by Lease under William
Forrester of Watling Street knight dated the second day of April in the yeare of our Lord God
One Thousand Six Hundred Seventy and Eight for the lives of Margaret Elizabeth and
Judith Stanier my three daughters together with the said Original Lease to bee delivered unto her by my
Executor hereinafter named to hold to her the said Margaret and her assigns for and dureing the continuance of the said Lease,
she the said Margaret Stanier paying and discharging all and all manner of rents livies taxes duties services and other
Impositions whatsoever which are reserved or shall bee taxed or Imposed on the same dureing the said term.
Item I give unto my daughter Margaret Stanier a large silver cupp with a silver cover belonging to it together with one of
the larger sorte of the silver salts with two silver spoons.
Item I do further give devise and bequeath unto my said Daughter Margaret as an Augmentation to her portion the summe of
forty pounds to be paid to her by my Executor hereafter named within the space of one year next after my decease.
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Judith Stanier all that my Messuage or Tenament with all and every of its
Appurtenances situate lying and being within the Towne and Towneship of Walton of the Clubb
within the Parish of High Ercall and the County of Salop which
I hold by virtue of a Lease under the Right Honourable Francis Lord Viscount Newport of Bradford
for ninety and nine years determinable upon the Lives of my son Francis Stanier and my two daughters
Elizabeth Stanier and Judith Stanier to have and to hold to her the said Judith Stanier her Executors Administrators and
Assigns for and dureing all the term and time mentioned and determinable in the said Lease as in and by the same
relation being thereunto had more fully and at large may appear at and under the several rents dutyes and provisoes and
Covenants therein mentioned
And likewise I give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Judith Stanier all the Estate right title and interest which
I have of in or to all those two peeces or parcels of Land with all and every of their appurtenances called by the
several names of the Bytham Leasow and the Eleven Butts near unto
Cotwalls Towns and within the said Parish of High Ercall to hold to her the said Judith Stanier her
Executors Administrators and assigns for and dureing all the term and time therein which I hold by Lease under the
rents therein mentioned and reserved together with the said two Original Leases to be delivered unto my said Daughter
Judith by my Executor hereafter named.
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my said Daughter Judith the summe of one hundred and sixty pounds of good and lawfull
English money to bee paid her within twelve months after my Decease by my Executor hereafter named it being in further
allowence and addition to her portion.
Item I do further give devise and bequeath unto my said Daughter Judith Stanier one large silver cupp with Chequor work round it
with one of the larger sort of my silver salts And also a further summe of forty pounds to bee paid to her by my Executor
hereafter named within the space of one year next after my Decease as a further addition and augmentation to her portion.
Item I give to the five Children of my Daughter Rachell and Richard Stanier
the summe of five pounds apiece to bee paid them within two years after my decease to bee put out and disposed by their father
to their best advantage and profit their names are John Thomas William Francis and
Charles. And in case of their deaths to bee divided to and amongst the surviving children share
and share alike. And my will and pleasure is that if it please God my said two Daughters Margaret and Judith Stanier and my
said two Grandchildren John and Thomas Stanier or any of them doe outlive mee and at my decease bee then living at
Uppington that they or such of them as shall bee then there living shall have their meate drink and
Lodging free and cleare without paying or allowing any thing for the same as they have now with mee for the remainder of these
monies after my decease. And also that my said two Grandchildren shall for that time bee kept to the School at Dunnington and
allowed for as now they are.
Ieme I give to my three Grandchildren Rachell Mary and Joshua Piper three
children of my Daughter Elizabeth Piper the summe of five pounds apiece to bee paid to them by my
Executor hereafter named within two years after my decease to bee set forth by their father for their best advantage. And in case
of either of their deaths to be disposed of to the use of the Survivor.
Item I give to my Son in Law
Joshua Piper
ten shillings to buy him a ring.
Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Piper and Daniel Piper her husband ten shillings apiece to buy them rings.
Item I give to my son Francis Stanier and Mary his wife ten shillings apiece to buy them rings,
And I give to my said son Francis my silver Tobaco box.
Item I do give devise and bequeath unto my son John Stanier all my estate right title and interest which I have
of in and to all that my Messuage or Tenement and all other my Lands in Uppington with their and every of their appurtenances by virtue of
any Lease or Leases from or under the Right Honourable Francis Lord Viscount Newport to hold to my said son John Stanier his Executors
Administrators and Assigns from and immediately after`my decease for and dureing all the term and times therein then to come
and unexpired.
Irem I doe further give devise and bequeath unto my said sonne John Stanier his Executors Administrators and Assigns all my
estate right title and Interest which I have by Lease of in and to all those peeces and parcells of Land called the
Whithleys or Whithley Grounds of in and to all those two leasowes, peeces
or parcells of Land thereunto adjoining and formerly known by the name of Chiltons Leasowes to have and
to hold to him his Executors Administrators and Assigns for and dureing all the terme and time yet to come and unexpired therein.
Item I doe further give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Stanier all that my Messuage or Tenement with its appurtenances
called Gowers Tenament in the Wrekin which I hold by Lease from the Right Honourable
Francis Lord Viscount Newport to hold to my said Son John Stanier his Executors Administrators and Assigns for and dureing the remainder
of the terme determinable upon the lives therein mentioned paying and performing all the rents dutys and services therein mentioned.
Item I doe give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Stanier his Executors Administrators and Assigns all that
Messuage or Tenament with its appurtenances situate in Aston under the Wrekin late in the possession of
Thomas Dodd deceased together with all that piece or parcel of Land called or known by the name of the
Gorsty Peece near Aston Greene and also all that dwelling house and land thereto
belonging the Appurtenances situate upon Aston Green and now in the possession of Thomas Heighway all which
said premises I hold by Lease from the Right Honourable Francis Lord Viscount Newport to hold to him the said John Stanier his
Executors Administrators and Assigns for the remainder of the terme therein mentioned.
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Stanier all my Estate right title and Interest terme of years clayme
property and demand whatsoever which I now have in on or to all that Messuage or Tenement with its appurtenances situate lyeing and being in
Osbaston within the Parish of High Ercall aforesaid in the County aforesaid and now in the possession of
one Richard Cruxton yeoman his Assigns or Under-tenants which I hold by virtue of an Assignment of a Lease from
John Hotchkis late Minister of the said Parish of High Ercall aforesaid who had a Lease from the Right Honourable
Francis Lord Viscount Newport to hold to him the said John Stanier and his Assignes for and dureing all the terme mentioned in the
said Lease at and under the rents and covenants therein mentioned which said deed of Assignment beares date on or about the two and
twentieth day of November Anno Domini One Thousand Six Hundred Eighty and Eight upon which Assignment the said Mr Hotchkis had
Lycence from the Lord Newport to Assign over the same.
Item I doe further give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Stanier all that my Messuage or Tenament in
Laughton aforesaid in the said County of Salop called Shubers Tenament within
the said Parish of High Ercall which I hold by Lease from Edward Kynaston of
Albrighton Esq. to hold to my said son John Stanier Executors Administrators and Assignes for and
dureing all the rest and residue of the said terme mentioned and reserved in the said Lease yet to come and unexpired hee the said
John Stanier performing all the Covenants therein.
Item I give and bequeath unto my said sone John Stanier my great silver tankard the guilt silver sugar dish and spoon
belonging to it the great silver salt the two lesser silver salts seaven other silver salts several small silver cupps six silver spoons
a silver inkhorn a silver bottle with all other my plate and rings not hereby or before given or bequeathed.
Item I doe further give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Stanier all my oxen cowes young catell horses mares geldings
colts sheep swine and all other my cattell of what nature or kind soever together with all utensils of husbandry and all
corne grain hay and pulse growing upon my Land or in my barns or graneries together also with all bills bonds ready moneys debts
contracts and all other my claimes and demands whatsoever hee the said John Stanier paying allowing and discharging all my
just debts Legacies and funeral expenses and performing this my Last Will and Testament in every respect as a true and just
Executor in such a case ought to doe
Item and lastly I doe hereby nominate constitute and appoint my aforesaid Loving son John Stanier sole Executor of this my last
Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by mee made hereby desiring him faithfully to perform the same in every
respect.

Proved in London at the Prerogative Court on 11th July 1691 John STANIER, Son of the deceased, executor named in the will, took the oath faithfully to administer, etc.
