Family Database

DATABASE NOW ONLINE

I am pleased to announce that the Stough-Stauch-Stough Family Database is now online. Included in the database are descendants of John George Stauch from his second and third marriage. The database is currently being reformatted as well, and will be updated soon. If you are seeing a specific person, feel free to contact me and I will see if I can help.

WHAT IS THE FAMILY DATABASE?

The Stough-Stauch-Stouch Family Database is a collection of information detailing the lives of John George Stauch's descendants. There are currently over 5,300 people listed in the database, cmost being  George's descendants from his second and third marriage.

This information is being stored using Family Tree Maker 9.0 software. I am planning on creating a larger database, consisting of other families I am researching. This will enable you to possibly connect to other people tied in to my research.

HOW WAS THE INFORMATION COLLECTED?

The information contained within the database was collected by a variety of means. Jay Stouch, a long-time family research, collected a large portion of this information over the past 30 years. Other ways we collected information was countless hours of library research, web surfing, contacts located online, phone calls, etc.

HAS THE INFORMATION BEEN PUBLISHED?

While the database has not been published for purchase, printed reports have been donated to the York County Heritage Trust Library for other researchers to use in their research. The donated "book", which consists of nearly 300 pages, contains information on the descendants of John George Stauch and Anna Maria Christina Baumann. Jay Stouch, who is focusing his research on descendants of John George Stauch and Anna Barbara Berner, also has his work included in the library's collection.

DO YOU PROVIDE LOOK-UPS?

I am more than happy to search through my records to see if I have what you are looking for. I have much information that has not been entered into the database yet.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

There are many ways you can help with this project. Any information you can supply about your family is helpful in keeping our database accurate and up-to-date. I am also trying to acquire copies of various family items that you may be in possession of. Items I am seeking are photos, misc. documents (wills, deeds, baptismal, birth and death certificates, marriage licenses, etc.), stories of family members, newspaper clippings, and other family related materials. If you have items such as these, and would like to submit copies for donation,  please contact the Webmaster.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Without the information supplied by others, this database would not be what it is today. The sharing of genealogical research is fundamental in the success of others.  I have no problem sharing information I have, and are hopeful that you feel the same.
