                              NOTES

The above transcription of the will and inventory was completed from a photocopy of the original estate records of John STEPHENS which was obtained from New Jersey by Mrs. LaNora Nyquist, and kindly supplied to this author. Note that John STEPHENS signs his name as STEPHENS to the will, but that the spellings Stevens and STEPHENS are both used in the body of the will which is not in John's handwriting. The photocopy of the original inventory of the John STEPHENS estate is quite difficult to read, but was transcribed as near as possible to reflect the original spelling, etc.  However, many of the above articles may be wrong due to the difficulty in reading the copy.
