Notes for JAMES JONES: James Jones was a Revoluntary War Veteran and served under Capt. West in Fairfax, VA. & under General George Washington Gen. Charles Lee General Morgan
His Wife, Sarah was given a pension in 1854.
He is buried in the old Richards Cemetery on Bunnell's Run near Pennsboro, Ritchie County, West Virginia.
Its a short distance below the Old fairgrounds. The Property is known as "Old Richards Survey" and
owned by Ray Cottrell a (descendant of James Jones).
Listed in 1850 Ritchie County Census.

Bogard is sometimes spelled Bozarth,Bozart, or Bossard. There were 3 families in the Upper Monongalia
Valley,they were Jonathan,John and Cornrlius Bozarth.
John and Jonathan had nearly 400 acres near what is ow Fairmont,WVA.
Jonathan went to Lewis County in 1784,(this was harrison County at the time)and settled near
the Head of the West Fork River.
Cornelius Bogard of Tygarts valley was a Captain of a Regiment formed
"in order to prevent the inroads made by the savages upon the white inhabitants"about 1793-94.
His daughtr Elizabeth Bogard,married Samuel Currence,son of William Currence,who came
from Ireland.
Very probably Abraham Bogard,husband of Esther Jones,was the son or grabdson of one
Abram Bogard from Fincastle County,Virginia,who served in Captain Evan Shelby's Regiment
who replaced Colonel Charles Lewis after he was killed in the "Battle of Point Pleasant" in 1774.
These families are found Lough's"Now and Long Ago" and "History of Upshur County"
Abraham(Abram)Bogard(Bozart) enlisted in Willoughby Morgan's Company,Monongalia County,for service in the
"War of 1812".
This same outfit James R. Jones,Esther's brother was in !!!
These two families are found in Hampshire County,WVA,at an earlier time.
Cornelius Bogard owned 55 acres of land on the South Branch River in 1763 !!! in Hampshire County,WVA.
Perhaps he is the same Cornelius who was in the Tygart River Valley 20 years later.
