The Robin Hood's Bay Museum

     
  The curator, Alan Staniforth, stands in the doorway of the museum - the one time Coroner's Room.

The museum is in Fisherhead just below houses once occupied by Graingers and Storms and other long established families.

It can be reached by following the signs from New Road.

The author Pat Labistour donated the smugglers cottage with hiding places, and children are invited to search for contraband.

 

     
                 
        Displays include a picture of Andrew Storm 1810-1897, and his wife Rebecca nee Harrison 1813-1904, and their son Jacob 1837-1926.  
                 
     
  Given prominence is a model of the 234 ton brig William. Built in 1841 it was owned by Matthew Storm and William Bedlington.

It was lost off Jutland in 1866.
