Slater B STUBBS ^{1 2}

  General Notes:

Slater and Sarah resided in Rising Sun MD. Slater was a physician. He read medicine under direction of his brother, Jeremiah B Stubbs, MD, of Fulton, Lancaster County; attended two courses of lectures at the Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, where he graduated in the class of March 10, 1842, being rated among the first of the class of that year. Soon after graduating he located for a short time in the village of Abbottstown, York County, but left and returned to Rising Sun, where he permanently located and practiced his profession until a few years before his decease.
During his residence in Cecil County MD he was twice elected to represent his district in the House of Delegates, and afterward was elected one of the School Commissioners of Cecil County. From the time of the organization of the company until his decease, he held the position of director of the Philadelphia and Baltimore Central RR. Wherever known professionally, he was universally conceded to be a skillful and good physician.

Slater married Sarah B HAINES, daughter of Edwin HAINES and Margaret HUTTON. (Sarah B HAINES was born May 21, 1833 ¹.)
