Census Records

Census   –   noun

1. an official enumeration of the population, with details as to age, sex, occupation, etc.
2. (in ancient Rome) the registration of citizens and their property, for purposes of taxation.

3. to take a census of (a country, city, etc.): The entire nation is censused every 10 years.

The files are primarily lists, charts and compilations to study the Stricklands in several North Carolina counties from 1784 to 1870. These are the counties researched for my own ancestry so are not meant to cover the entire state of North Carolina or other states.
