Top with croutons, and dressing of your choice. When Leann was in High School this was her favorite lunch. |
Strawberry pie Dedicated to Leann - when she was in her early teens, her mom made 2 strawberry pies. She ate one --- the whole pie. :"). 2 (9 in) baked pie shells 2 1/2 quarts fresh strawberries 1 cup white sugar 2 tbs. cornstarch 1 cup boiling water 1(3 oz) pk of strawberry gelatin In a saucepan, mix together sugar and cornstarch; make sure to blend the cornstarch in completely. Add boiling water and cook over med. heat until mixture thickens. Remove from heat. Add gelatin and stir until smooth Let mix cool to room temperature. Place strawberries in baked shells, position berries with points facing up pour cooled gel mixture over strawberries. Refrigerate until set. Serve with whipped cream. Very good. |

Holiday Turkey Recipe When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try. BAKED STUFFED TURKEY 10-20 lb. turkey 3 cup melted butter 5 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.) 2 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S) salt/pepper to taste Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven. Listen for the popping sounds. When the turkey's ass blows the oven door, open and the damn thing flies across the room, it is done. And, you thought I couldn't cook ..... |
