Clements

I have managed so far to trace the Clements back to around 1840. All the Clements I have so far have been from London. Firstly from the St Pancras/Marylebone area then moving to Walthamstow. There seems to be a common theme in their occupation as Grooms/Keepers of horses.

1901 census Thomas Clements

At the time of the 1901 census the family were Living in the same house as Louisa's brother William J Coombs and his family.

In 1898 Charles Booth surveyed the area which included Prebend Place. Here are his findings...

"Prebend Place. running out of Prebend St (S) contains 10 or 12 two storey houses, said to be occupied by a "peer working class", but really a mixture, and should be purple, rather than pink, as on map."
