5 Jan Pte. Michael Edward Carroll moved to Portsmouth with the 19th Regiment of Foot.
8 Mar Rachel Carroll died of consumption, aged 28, in Pontantwn, Carmarthenshire.
16 May The HQ and five companies of the 19th Foot Regiment, including Pte. Michael Edward Carroll were moved from Portsmouth to Gosport after a �disagreement� between the 19th and the 38th Regiments.
14 Jul Pte. Michael Edward Carroll, son of John, arrived at the Great Camp in Chobham with the HQ and six companies of the 19th Regiment.
