1824 - 1852
during which time Edward Carroll is born, serves in the army in Dublin, leaves Ireland for Wales and marries his first wife, and Michael Carroll is born, leaves Ireland, enlists in the 19th Regiment of Foot in Wales and is in London to line the route of the Duke of Wellington's funeral procession.
1853 - 1854
during which time Edward Carroll loses his first wife to consumption and
marries his second, and Michael Carroll sails with the 19th Foot Regiment
to the Crimea where he takes part in the battles of the Alma and Inkerman.
1855 - 1859
during which time Edward Carroll loses his second wife to consumption,
marries his third and transfers from the Carmarthenshire to the Pembrokeshire
County Constabulary, and Michael Carroll takes part in the storming of the
Great Redan at Sebastopol during the Crimean War, buys himself out of the army
to join the Pembrokeshire Constabulary and gets married.
1860 - 1861
during which time Edward Carroll and his family move from Newcastle
Emlyn to Fishguard and then on to Haverfordwest, and Michael Carroll is
promoted to First Class Constable in the Pembrokeshire Constabulary and is
then made Acting Sergeant of Police.
1862 - 1866
during which time Edward Carroll transfers from Haverfordwest to
Landshipping and is promoted to the 1st Division of 2nd Class Constables in
the Pembrokeshire Constabulary, and Michael Carroll transfers from Cilgerran
to Neyland and on to Milford Haven, and is promoted to Sergeant in the
Pembrokeshire Constabulary.
1868 - 1880
during which time Edward Carroll transfers from Landshipping to Pembroke
Dock and is made 1st Class Constable in the Pembrokshire Constabulary,
Police Sergeant Michael Carroll transfers from Haverfordwest to Pembroke Dock,
and Edwin Carroll serves one year in the Pembrokeshire Constabulary before
becoming an Assistant Signalman on the Taff Vale Railway and getting married
in Cardiff.
1881 - 1890
during which time Edward Carroll transfers to Jeffreyston before retiring
from the Police Force, Michael Carroll retires from the Pembrokeshire
Constabulary, Edwin Carroll is made Full Signalman on the Taff Vale Railway
at Taffs Well Siding, George Thomas Carroll joins the Metropolitan Police and
gets married, and John Edward Carroll becomes a Waterman for H.M. Customs &
Excise in London.
1891 - 1899
during which George Thomas Carroll is dismissed from the Metropolitan Police and
later dies, Edward Henry Carroll starts work on the Taff Vale Railway as a tail lamp
minder, and Thomas John Carroll starts work as a lampman for the Taff Vale Railway.
