On p. 22: "the Boumans were Dunkers, mother always said she was descended from the 'White Dutch' (Hollanders) and not from the 'black Dutch' (Germans). Joseph Bouman, her father, was born on the first day of April, but whether he was born in Holland or Maryland is not known ... wife was named Nancy. She was born April 24, 1750 ... eight children ... Isaac and Elisabeth married in Maryland and never came to Kentucky, the others all married in Jessamine County, Kentucky. Joseph Bouman died Feb. 5, 1831 ... Nancy Bouman died July 14, 1835 ..."
