Be it remembered that on this the 16th day of March, 1896, there came on and was held a regular session of the Honorable District Court of Greer County, Texas at the Courthouse in Mangum. Present and presiding, Hon. G. A. Brown, District Judge, G. W. Walters, District Attorney, Jas. Brown, District Clerk and S. H. Tittle, Sheriff in attendance.
Court having been opened in due form of law, the following proceedings were had to wit:

This day the Court proceeded to empanel a Grand Jury and the following named persons who had been summoned to serve as Grand Jurors having appeared in court and having been tested by the Court as to their qualifications and found qualified to serve as Grand Jurors were empaneled and duly sworn as such Grand Jurors in the manner prescribed by law to wit:
J. H. Simpson,
A. R. Wilson,
J. V. Colville,
W. R. Fox,
W. L. Fullerton,
W. E. Norman,
J. B. French,
Wesley Cox,
J. C. Collins,
Geo. Blalock,
Gus Steward,
W. A. Potts.
And the Court thereupon appointed J. H. Simpson, one of said Jurors, foreman of the Grand Jury, and instructed them as to their duties and placed them in charge of a duly qualified bailiff and they retired to enter upon the discharge of their duties.

It is ordered by the Court that M. L. Ealum be and he is hereby appointed Walking bailiff of the Grand Jury to serve as such during the present term of this court whereupon the oath prescribed by law for bailiffs to take was administered to the said M. L. Ealum by the Court.

It is ordered by the Court that T. J. Burden and R. E. Jones be and there are hereby apponted Riding Bailiffs of the Grand Jury to serve as such during the present term of this Court to serve as such during the present term of this Court whereupon the oath prescribed by law for bailiffs to take was administered to the said T. J. Burden and R. E. Jones by the Court.

This day the Court proceeded to empanel a Petit Jury for the first week of this term of this court and the following named persons who had been summoned to serve as petit jurors having appeared in court and having been tested by the Court as to their qualifications and found qualified to sere as Petit Jurors, were empaneled and were duly sworn as such Jurors in the manner prescribed by law, to wit:

Tuesday, March 17, 1896
Court met pursuant to adjournment with same officers in attendance and court having been opened in due form of law the following proceedings were had to wit:

The State of Texas vs. No. 499, March 17, 1896
This day came on to be heard the motion of the States Attorney herein asking permission of the court to dismiss this criminal action for the following reasons to wit: because of the absence from the State of the State's witnesses which having heard by the Court, the Court is satisfied that the reasons so stated are good and sufficient to authorize such dismissal, It is therefore considered ordered and adjudged that this criminal action be and the same dismissed.

The State of Texas, vs. R. E. Bullock, No. 573, March 17th, 1896
This day came on to be heard the motion of the State's Attorney herein asking permission of the Court to dismiss this criminal action because of the insufficiency of the evidence to sustain a conviction. It is therefore considered, ordered and adjudged by the Court that this criminal action be and the same is dismissed and that the Defendant be discharged and go hence without delay.

The State of Texas, vs. G. A. Fink, et al, No. 82, March 17th, 1896
It is ordered by the Court that the Judgement Nisi entered against the Defendants, G. A. Fink, M. L. Hunter and J. B. Rue at a former term of this court be set aside and that the fine assessed against the said G. A. Fink, M. L. Hunter and J. B. Rue be and the same is remitted.

To the District Court of Greer County, Texas, Report of Jas. Brown of moneys that have come to my hand since the last term of the Honorable Dist. Court for this County.
