bullet  General Notes:

This is from a book online by ancestry.com "One Ladd's family"
A section contains the Farley family, below is from pages 520-521.
"1. Francis Farley, Jr. - born in 1726 in Henrico county, Virginia. He married Nancy Blankenship, and died in Shawnee-town, Illinois, in 1829, aged 103 years. He was an Indian scout during the French and Indian, and Revolutionary Wars. He fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant on 10 Oct 1774, and was thought to have been a messenger from the West to Washington's Army.
Francis, Jr. and Nancy (Blankenship) Farley were the parents of five sons and three daughters."

"2. John Farley - born in 1728 in Chesterfield county, Virginia. He also married a Nancy Blankenship. the two Nancy's could have been cousins, or more probably niece and aunt, and were thought to be daughter and sister of Drewry Blankenship, the famous Indian scout. John Farley was also and Indian scout, along with his brothers, and also fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant on 10 Oct 1775, and after the Revolution he returned to his land on Indian Creek, now in Monroe county, West Virginia, where he probably died." [I'm not sure when this was written, but at this point, I'm not changing John Farley's wife, I'm leaving it as Nancy Sherrill.]
