NEWTON, Narcissa
- Born: Abt 1836, , Macon County, North Carolina, USA
- Marriage (1): CLINE, George Washington [146312056] on 4 Jan 1852 in , Haywood County, North Carolina, USA
- Died: 1900, Farmersville, Collin County, Texas USA about age 64 1
Cause of her death was Flu.
Find a Grave ID: 146314167.
General Notes:
Narcissa moved with some of her children to the New Harmony-Mt Sylvan area of East Texas. Her daughter, Mary Martha Luraine (Molly) Cline Allred had taken her with her own family to Farmersville, Collin county, Texas when the Allred family went there to pick cotton in the fall of 1900. She had chills and a high fever and died, this was during the flu epidemic. (An interesting note is that Robert L. & Ida Cline were living in Farmersville, Collin county, Texas on the 1900 census, so this likely was the reason Molly and her family, along with Narcissa choose to go to Farmersville to pick cotton.)
Source: Family (2002, I found no record at the Farmerville Library of a Flu Epidemic).
There is no known marker on her grave. (I called the County Clerk's office in Collin County, there was no Cline with first name beginning with N listed in the Death Records around 1900. They didn't officially begin keeping TexasDeath Records until 1903). I went to Farmersville library and looked through the books listing all the cemeteries, but didn't find her listed.
