- On 10 Jan 1938 his obituary was published in The Tyler Courier-Times, Tyler, Texas, USA. 9 "Funeral services for G.A. (Should be D. A.) Cline, 82, of Mount Sylvan, who died at the home of his son, D.W. Cline of Mount Sylvan yesterday morning following an attack of influenza, were held this morning at 10 o'clock at the Mount Sylvan Methodist church. Burial was in Mount Sylvan cemetery, with York funeral home of Lindale, in charge. Mr. Cline had live in Smith county for 30 years, moving here from Hill county. He was born in North Carolina. For 30 years he was a member of the Methodist church. He was a member of the T. R. Bonner Masonic lodge No. 764, 764.
Surviving him are five sons: D. W. Cline, E. C. Cline, A. F. Cline and W. E. Cline, all of Mount Sylvan, and G. W. Cline of Tyler; six daughters: Mrs. Annie Land of Mount Sylvan, Mrs. Laura Wood of New Harmony, Mrs. Olney McGowan of Tyler and Mrs. Ora Holt and Mrs. Bessie Halligan, born of Fort Worth; two brothers, Bob Cline of Red Springs and Spake Cline of Mount Calm and one sister Mrs. Mollie Allred of Mount Sylvan."
