General Notes:
Papa was a tall (abt. 6'2") very thin man, very dark skin, high cheek bones and deep set eyes (definite Indian features). He stayed with us from time to time, and what I remember most was that he got up very early, and thought everyone else should be up also, so he'd get dressed and go sit on the front porch and peck on the wooden floor with his walking stick until we got up. My bedroom was next to the porch, so it would always wake me up.
30 April 2007 Ruby Land related this to me: Uncle Bob and his family lived seven miles from them (Antny's family).

Marriage Notes:
Her father was a minister, but their marriage was performed by Justice of Peace, E. D. Gant.
They broke up housekeeping several years before Granny's death, They each lived with their children for a month or so at a time, then Granny moved into an apartment in Tyler and was living there at her death. Papa also stayed with each of the children for a month or so at a time, then went to live with his daughter, Irene in Woodlake, Texas. After Irene's husband died, she moved back to Smith County, near Tyler, Texas. Papa continued to live with her, but he occasionally went to the other children's homes for a short stay, but most of the time, he lived with Irene.
