bullet  General Notes:

Source:Sandra Nipper
Daughter of Nancy Cochran, who was supposed to be part Indian. Not proven except where one of Nancy's great-grandchildren applied for Cherokee Indian money in 1908. If she were part Indian, this might explain why they were in Cherokee County on the 1840 census. Most full-blood Indians were "removed" to Indian Territory in 1836. Those that had white husbands could stay. I suspect they lived just above the Tomotla area between Murphy and Andrews near a place called Marble because of a marble quarry located there.

Edith "Edee" remarried 6 Mar 1866 to William Martin, a widower, b 1794 d 8 Aug 1870 McMinn County, Tennessee and buried Old Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, McMinn Co, TN. They married in McMinn Co., TN and had no issue from this marriage.
