- Orbituary: Lindale Services Tuesday For James "J.W." Glasscock, 10 Jun 2002, Tyler, Smith, Texas, USA. 5 Mon, June 10, 2002 - RED SPRINGS: Services for James "J.W." Glasscock, 89, Red Springs, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel, Lindale, with the Revs. Danny Barnett and William Summers officiating.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Glasscock died June 9 at a Tyler hospice.
He was born Nov 30, 1912, to the late James Anderson and Belle Edwards Glasscock. He was a retired truck driver, having operated his own truck and also was employed by Western Foundry and Tyler Pipe Industries. He was a charter member and past deacon of New Life Assembly in Lindale.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Margaret Glasscock, Red Springs; son, Jimmy Glasscock, Lindale; daughters, Betty Wisenbaker, Woodville, and Linda Balfour, Red Springs; brothers, Tommy Glasscock, Lindale and Barney Glasscock, Tyler; sisters, Marie Amburgey, Longview, Minnie Kennedy, Lindale, Annie B. Price, Jacksonville, and Tincie Smith, Tyler; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are James Glasscock, Derek Balfour, Tip Chaney, Michael Crews, R. B. Glasscock and Dewey Glasscock. Honorary pallbearers are Donny Welch, Bobby, Jerry, and Danny Kennedy and Gary Glasscock.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
