Mr. Glasscock was born to the late James Anderson and Linnie Bell Glasscock on Jan 9, 1928 in Lindale. He passed away Feb 18, 2005 in Tyler. He lived in the Tyler area all of his life, was in the U.S. Army, a member of the House of Prayer and worked for Tyler Pipe for over 20 years. He was a devoted Christian and not only preached the gospel, but he also lived his life by it, mentoring to many troubled teens and leading them to God. He loved the outdoors and spent many days at the lake with his twin brother fishing. He and his brother were inseparable throughout their lives and military career. To his family, he was the world's best father and brother. Everyone that knew Barney will always remember his smile. He is preceded in death by his loving and faithful wife of 55 years, Imogene "Mollie" Glasscock; three brothers, J.W., Dewey and Bryant Glasscock; six sister, Rosie Bradshaw, Sally Duncan, Earnestine Quinn, Lilly Kendricks, Euthel Turner and Louetta Glasscock.
He leaves behind his daughter, Carolyn and Max Wallace of Tyler, Sandra and Mitch Ward of Tyler; three grandchildren, Ben L. Williamson of Fredericksburg, Va., RP3 Justin R. Williamson (Navy) of Norfolk, Va., and Chris Williams of Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Seth Williamson and Morgan Williamson, both of Fredericksburg, Va., and Carlie Williams of Tyler, twin brother, Tommy Lee Glasscock of Lindale; four sisters, Marie Amburgy of Longview, Minnie Kennedy of Lindale, Annie B. Price of Jacksonville, and Tincie Smith of Tyler.
Pallbearers will be Chris Williams, James Ward, Larry Rains, Heuland Glasscock, Bobby Wallace, Jimmy Glasscock, R.B. Glasscock and Terry Glasscock. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben L. Williamson, RP3 Justin R. Williamson, Jon Hataway, Dennis Pridgin, Ronnie Williams, Jimmy S. Tucker and Gary Glasscock
