The
Olsen (Gangestad) Album is under construction!

on any photo to see a larger image. See also links below. The Olsen
ancestors have been hard to track in Norway since they moved around
a lot: Varteig, Onsoy, Tune, Rygge, and Skjeberg in Ostfold.
They seem to have lived a while at the Odegaarden
Farm in Onsoy before moving to Gangestad østre (145,
4) in Skjeberg in the 1880's. All of Edward Olsen's siblings stayed in
Norway and used various surnames: Olsen, Evensen, Gangestad. He settled
in St. Paul, MN in 1890 and used the surname Gangestad at first, but changed
to Olsen. (The Gangestads who had the farm previously seem to have immigrated
to the United States, but are likely not related.)
