In order to reach The Tancooks you will take a passenger ferry ride from Chester, Nova Scotia for a very reasonable round-trip fare of $5.00. (Children under 12 are free.) The following is the current schedule. Please note that the last run leaving Chester daily DOES NOT RETURN to the mainland. The ferry is transportation for the people of Tancook and remains docked at Great Tancook overnight, hence the ferry crew are residents of the island. Use Sunday Schedule for holidays.

***NOTE: The 8:00 a.m. ferry runs are direct to Chester and take approx. 30-35 min. The 3:40 p.m. runs and the 5:30 p.m. run on Friday are also direct from Chester to Big Tancook. All other runs take approx. 50-55 min.
