Robert married Sarah Wright, daughter of William Wright and Nancy Nelson. Robert and Sarah had five children: William, Robert J., Edith, Albert P., and A. Lincoln.
Robert and Sarah's oldest son was William J. McAdams3, MD [January 1871 - July 26, 1910]. William married Nellie Gray Jones in 1897. Their Marriage License is recorded in the Allegheny County Marriage License Docket. William and Nellie had four sons: Robert D. [March 1899 - November 19, 1901], premature twins Henry Richard [April 13, 1900 - June 13, 1900] and William J. McAdams, Jr. [June 16, 1900] and William G. [February 19, 1903 - August 13, 1975]. William G. married Frances Magill and had two sons, William G. Jr., and Jack F. McAdams. Dr. William J., Nellie and the twins are buried in Section 9-2 Lot 220 of Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh.

Robert and Sarah's second son was Robert J. McAdams, M.D.3 [February 14, 1873 - 1932]. His wife was Miriam Snow [October 21, 1874 - 1932]. Their Marriage License is recorded in the Allegheny County Marriage License Docket. Robert and Miriam had four children:
1. Sarah Snow McAdams [March 10 - 12, 1900]
2. Sarah S. McAdams, who married Stannard Pfahl in 1929
3. Robert J. McAdams IV [April 2, 1908 - September 29, 1971], husband of Esther Fletcher
4. Andrew J. McAdams, M.D. [1912 - December 25, 1999].
Robert and Sarah's next child was Edith3, born on June 8, 1875. Edith's husband was John W. Cristler, M.D. Edith and John's Marriage License appears in the Allegheny County Allegheny County Marriage License Docket Volume 31 page 405. The license states that John W. Cristler was born in Beaver County, Pennsylvania on Feb. 3 1858. He listed his residence as 708 5th Avenue, and his occupation as physician. Edith May McAdams listed her place of birth as Pittsburgh and her residence as 708 5th Avenue. Consent was given by Robert McAdams residing at 708 5th Avenue. The marriage was performed in December 1894 by Rev. George Shaffer.
Robert and Sarah's third son was Albert3 [November 1878 - May 20, 1970] who married Katherine Farrell [1872 - 1938], a teacher in Bellefield public school, in 1904. Their Marriage License is recorded in the Allegheny County Marriage License Docket. Albert and Katherine had five children: Alberta [August 13, 1905 - January 1986], Albert F. McAdams, Robert A. McAdams, Margaret and Donald.
Robert A. McAdams4 married Naomi Good, daughter of Charles H. Good [1884 - 1970] and Naomi Lee Good [1889 - 1973]. Robert was a partner in McAdams Brothers Physicians' Supply Company according to his 1964 obituary. Naomi Good McAdams died on June 24, 2000 and was interred in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA.
Katherine Farrell McAdams died on September 23, 1938. Her obituary appeared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. It read:
Katherine Farrill McADAMSKatherine was buried with her husband, Albert, and her daughter Alberta in Sec. 27 Lot 175 of Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh.Services for Mrs. Katherine Farrill McAdams of 1133 Greenfield avenue, a former teacher in Bellefield public school, who died Friday [September 23, 1938] in West Penn Hospital after a brief illness, will be held tomorrow morning in the Samson funeral home, Neville street. Besides her husband, Albert P. McAdams, she leaves three sons, Robert A., Donald J., and Albert F. McAdams; a daughter Mrs. Margaret Antes, and a sister, Miss Margaret M. Farrill. Mrs. McAdams was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh. Burial will be held in Allegheny Cemetery.

Robert and Sarah's fourth son was A. Lincoln3 [April 1881 - April 7, 1945]. A. Lincoln married Dale Geble about 1887. They had two daughters, Nancy Jane and Mrs. Allen C. Clark.
In 1920, A. L. McAdams was 37 years old. He was living with his wife and daughter at 6631 Ridgeville Street in Pittsburgh. With them is 56 year old Rachel Gordon born in South Wales.
A. Lincoln McAdams died in 1945. His obituary appeared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. It read:
McADAMS - Suddenly on Saturday, April 7, 1945 at 5:00, A. Lincoln McAdams, husband of Dale G. McAdams; father of Nancy Jane McAdams and Mrs. Allen C. Clark; brother of Mrs. Edith May Cristler and Albert P. McAdams. Friends received H. Samson's, 537 Neville St., where services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.Source: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, April 9, 1945, page 16.
Robert and Mary Ann's son William Frederick McAdams2 was born on January 5, 1849. Some records list his birthplace as Ireland, and others list his birthplace as England. William married his Annie Wright, his sister-in-law. William and Annie's Marriage License was recorded in the City of Pittsburgh Marriage License Docket. Annie's parents were William Wright and Nancy Nelson. Annie's sister, Sarah was married to William's brother Robert. Children of William and Annie were:
1. Walter James McAdams3 , born on November 24, 1874, in Pittsburgh. He died on July 23, 1878 in Pittsburgh.

Kelly Selcher writes "I corrected my great-grandfather�s birth date as I had the incorrect one as 1888. I am not entire sure he was a triplet (his two other brothers were born a day before). However, I should know for sure soon as I sent for Edward Calvin McAdams� birth certificate.
In 1880, William was living in the 14th Ward and was working as a Constable, 5th Ave. Market. Living with him were his wife Annie, son, Christopher, 2, and mother, Mary Ann - 65 years old.
Christopher Lyman McAdams3 was born on January 1877. He worked as a plumber and married German-born Carrie Hein 1902. Their Marriage License was recorded in the Allegheny County Marriage License Docket, and was announced in the Pittsburgh Gazette:
Hein-McAdamsChristopher3 and Carrie had three children:Miss Carrie Hein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Hein, and Christopher Lyman McAdams, son of Mr. and Mrs. William McAdams were married yesterday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents. After the wedding supper Mr. and Mrs. McAdams left for the east on their wedding trip. They will be at home at No 2015 Sarah Street, South Side, after January 15.

1. Marjorie McAdams5, born in 1942 married Mahlon Timothy Easton. They have two children: Edward Timothy Easton born in 1973 and Daniel Christian Easton, born in 1980. My grandfather recently made a trip to Pittsburgh a week ago and he was going to meet Marjorie, but something came up and hopefully he'll be able to see her in the spring.
Ida died in 1995. Her obituary appeared in the Post-Gazette:
2. William Frederick "Bill" McAdams5, born on June 12, 1945 in Pittsburgh. He married Alice I. Pierce. His death in 2004 was a result of a complication during a surgery. Alice had died previously in 1998. Bill and Alice McAdams had two children: William Frederick McAdams, born in 1972 and Christy Lynn McAdams, born about 1981. William Frederick McAdams recently married Kate Daly and they have a son, Stuart William McAdams, born in February 2000. Ida and William F. McAdams are buried in Mt. Nebo United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mt. Nebo Rd., PAOn Monday December 11, 1995, wife of the late William F. McAdams; beloved mother of Marjorie Easton of Wheeling WV and William F. II of Ohio Twp., sister of the late James L. Schuler and Leslie Schuler; also survived by four grandchildren. Friends received Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the H. P. Brandt Funeral Home, Inc. 1032 Perry Hwy, Perrysville where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Mrs. McAdams was a registered nurse for 42 years at Suburban Gen. Hosp., Bellevue, a life member of Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church, life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, member of Mt. Nebo Grange and past President of the Avalon Women's Club.

58 of Pgh, on Sunday, March 28, 2004. Born June 12, 1945 in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late William F. and Ida (Shuler) McAdams; husband of the late Alice (Pearce); father of William F. McAdams (Kathryn Daly) of Pgh., Christy McAdams of Pgh. and sister Marjorie (Timothy) Easton of Wheeling WV. Mr. McAdams was a member of the Mt. Nebo U.P. Church. He was retired from AT&T. Friends received Wed., 2-4 & 7-9pm at the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Highway, Perrysville Pgh, PA. Service will be Thurs. 11 am at the funeral home. Interment at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
Christopher died on November 7, 1911 as described in his obituary. Christopher and Carrie were buried in Section N of Union Dale Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
William and Annie's second son was Edgar L. McAdams3. Edgar married Lucy Hunt. Edgar and Lucy's daughter was Norma C. McAdams.
William and Annie's third son was Edward Calvin McAdams3, M. D. In 1914, Edward married Lydia McClain, who had born in July 1879 in Pennsylvania. Edward and Lydia had one son, Edward C. McAdams, Jr. Edward C. McAdams, Jr. was married to Louise Owens. His second wife was Veronica Phillips [June 29, 1913 - May 17, 1995]. Edward C. McAdams, Jr.'s children are Sandy, Doug, and Steve McAdams. Lydia died on February 25, 1917 and was buried in the McClain plot in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
On January 11, 1921, Dr. Edward Calvin McAdams married his second wife, Ida Mae Kidd [December 9, 1888 - December 27, 1969]. For more information about Ida's family, visit Kidds of West Riding Yorkshire and Pittsburgh, PA.
Ida was the twelfth of thirteen children of Edwin Kidd and Margaret Gurry. Edwin Kidd founded the "Kidd Steel" mill at the turn of the century. According 
to Kelly Selcher, Edwin "sold it because he was a pacifist and he didn't want to support the war." The company is still in existence but is now called Precision Kidd Steel Co.
Edward McAdams' and Ida Kidd had one son, Joseph Kidd McAdams4 who married Joan Ruth Johnson.
Dr. Edward C. McAdams died on March 12, 1951. According to his obituary, Edward was living at 9104 Frankstown Rd. at the time.
Edward's father, William P. McAdams was the Superintendent of Pittsburgh market (fish) at the turn of the century. He retired at age 55. He is shown in the upper picture, supplied by his 2nd great- granddaughter, Kelly Selcher. Kelly also supplied the lower picture which shows William's daughter-in-law, Ida Kidd McAdams with her husband, Dr. Edward and her son Joseph Kidd McAdams.
According to William P. McAdams' obituary, he was living at 17 Calhoun Ave. when he died on Thursday, April 21, 1938.
