Tasker Family History - Worcestershire

Taskers in Worcestershire

The christening of Humphrey Tasker's son Gregory at Saint Michael Bedwardine Church in Worcester, on 28 December 1573 is the first Tasker recorded on the iGI in Worcestershire*. The church itself dates back to 1273 and ten years later was the location for the christening of Clement Tasker's two children, Thomas (on 28 December 1583) and Susanna (on 8 May 1585). In total there are only 77 Taskers listed on the IGI in Worcestershire.

* Worcestershire, like most English counties, has changed its boundaries since 1573. There are many villages on the borders of Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire that have been in several counties over the last four centuries. Tredington, where Richard Tasker's daughter Margery was christened in 1563 was then in Worcestershire but is now in Warwickshire.
