The story of Taskers and Steam goes back to Robert Tasker, born about 1785 in Stanton-St-Bernard, Wiltshire. At the age of 24, Robert took over the forge of blacksmith Thomas Maslen at Abbotts Ann, near Andover in Hampshire. From this simple start grew Tasker's Ironworks, then Tasker's Steam Engines and finally Tasker Trailers, before the company's sad demise in 1983.
