George Taylor's Heritage

My Wife's Parents

Walter and Mamie Tillery were the parents of my wife Betty Sue (Tillery) Taylor. (Betty is one of twelve children.) They were good, hardworking, Christian folk and were steadfast in their Christian beliefs. They were very much in love with each other as shown by their expressed affection for one another. They were very good to me and, I as a young husband, were helpful in many ways. Their life was their family and their church . Their church was the First Assembly of God Church on South Main Street in Malvern, Ar. Walter was a charter member of the first board of deacons and served as a deacon for thirty-five years. He also taught a Sunday School class for twenty-five years. Mamie was a charter member of the church. She taught a Sunday School Class for thirty years. They died within a few hours of each other in the local Malvern hospital. They were residents of Stillmeadow Nursing Home in Malvern, Ar at the time. A double funeral was held at the First Assembly of God Church. The funeral was really a Celebration of the Home-going of Walter and Mamie!

The genealogy information that follows is factual as far as I can determine it to be and shows many family ties to other families and generations. Provided are pedigree charts, a family summary, ancestors, descendants, and notes.

Many of my generation feel that we endured much as we grew up, and in ways we did. I say we endured nothing compared to what out ancestors, even the generation just prior to ours, endured. May the forth-coming generations realize what the previous generations, with the help of God, have accomplished for them! May God Bless all of Walter and Mamie's descendants!

This information is a tribute to the faithfulness of Walter and Mamie to their God, Church and family.
