To Mom and Dad Taylor

I dedicate these articles to my Mom and Dad, George Evans Taylor and Gladys Aline (Ennis) Taylor.

(Dad Sept 27th, 1901~~~Oct 30th, 1993.)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(Mom Oct 21st, 1905~~~May 23rd, 1989.)

They were good Christian folk and worked very hard to give us four children a good life in the country.
We were carried to church each time the doors were open, all four children became Christians.

Living in the country on a farm provided many memories for me, I have penned some for their posterity.

We lived in this "Old House on the Rocky Hill":

The last time we visited dad at his home we slipped in on him, he didn't have the front door locked. I could see through the front window that he was reading his Bible with a magnifying glass as usual. I opened the door and walked in and spoke to him and he jumped (he was "jumpy") and was very glad to see me and my wife Betty Sue (Tillery). The last time I visited him in the Benton hospital he seemed to not realize we were there except that his eyes would follow us around the room. Leaving the room I kissed him on the forehead and told him I loved him and as we started out the door I waved bye to him and he waved back with his little clinched fists!

The last time I saw mom in good spirits was in a Little Rock hospital in ICU, she was smiling while we visited with her. Later I learned she had a stroke as we were driving back to Alabama. The last time I saw her in the nursing home she was just there and that was it. Some weeks later when we went back to visit her the room was empty, I asked the cleaning lady where mom was and she said I should ask at the desk. Mom had died that morning as we were driving to Malvern.

I believe dad and mom are now in heaven free of the pain and problems of this old world.
May God keep memories of them in our hearts as long as we live.
Both are buried in the Cooper Cemetery with other family members.
