Coincidences in These Two Deaths--Lawrence H. Kimes and Arley Relfe, Both Thirty-six Years Old, Die of Pneumonia

From an unknown Anderson, Indiana, newspaper

Lawrence H. Kimes, better known among his friends as "Jack," died at 1 o'clock Thursday morning on pneumonia, at his home on South Main Street. He was first taken ill with influenza about ten days ago, and this developed into pneumonia. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, 8 years old. He was thirty-six years old.

Mr. Kimes was a Fairmount resident all of his life and for several years conducted a plumbing and tin shop on Main Street. For the past few months he was connected with the Garthwait Hardware Company, of Gas City.

No arrangements for the funeral had been made Thursday afternoon.

Pneumonia, following an attack of influenza, caused the death of Arley Relfe, who passed away Wednesday night at his home on South Penn Street, at 8 o'clock. A widow and three children survive, also one brother, Ozz Relfe, of near Gaston, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Spence.

Funeral arrangements were not announced Thursday morning.

Mr. Relfe was thirty-six years old.

Coincidences in the deaths of these two men lie in the fact that they were both thirty-six years old, both died of pneumonia, which followed influenza, they died the same night and both were ill only a few days.
