RUTH LAVON MURPHY
Ruth Lavon, the youngest daughter of Elba and Mary Murphy was born inSunfield,
Michigan, September 21, 1928, and departed this life December 31, 1937,at the age of 9
years, 3 months and 10 days.
She is survived by her parents, one half brother, Carl G. Sackett ofMattawan, Clair of
Battle Creek, Lawrence of Madgelena, New Mexico; Verlin of Woodland; fivesisters,
Mrs Daisy Johnson of Bedford, Mrs Barabra Bliter of Dallas, Texas, Normaof Battle
Creek, Beatrice and Laura at home, two nephews and seven nieces, manyother relatives
and a host of friends, and her beloved teacher, Mrs Arlie Spindler.
The funeral was held at the Woodbury United Brethren Church, January 4th,at 11 a.m.
Her pastor, Rev. E. M. Wheeler, officiating assisted by Presiding ElderRev. Don Carrick
and Rev. George Klopfinstein of the Evangelical Church. Interment in theSunfield
Cemetery.
Jesus came to carry the lamb in His arms that the sheep might follow andshe is reaching
from Paradise bringing the glory of God down to earth to lead us to meetour Heavenly
Father.

Frank was born at Irving, Chautauqua County, N. Y., and when about three years of age removed with his parents to a farm near Fredonia, in said country, where he grew to manhood. The strenuous duties of farm life gave him a strong and hardy constitution, and by attendance at the district school and State Normal Training School at Fredonia, he fitted himself for a business career.
In the Spring of 1889 he removed with his family to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where they remained until the Spring of 1892, when they returned to and settled permanently at Fredonia. Shortly after his return he established there a manufacturing business under the name of the "Sackett Screen Co.," of which he subsequently became and now is the sole proprietor. He was one of the founders and is secretary of what is now The Citizens Trust Company of Fredonia. Mr. Sackett is an active member, has held many offices in different branches, and for several terms was District Deputy Grand Patriarch of the Order of Odd Fellows.
