I am looking for a David Perkins b. abt 1774 in (supposedly) NC.  In 1850, I found him in
the Orange Co. Poor House, with a woman named Martha (age 35), along with children,
Nancy(5yrs) & Andrew Perkins(3) (my gr.grandfather) There was also a listing for a Ann
Morrow (60) in that same group. On Andrew's marriage licensee, it names a David & Martha as his parents, but I have yet to be able to find anything else to narrow it down. David Perkins died in Feb. 1856, and the county gave Martha $5.00 to bury him. No other mention about him. I think that David must have been the grandfather, and his son was also a David  (maybe dead?)
But I have searched all over NC, and can't find another David that would fit the age, or
ircumstances. This has been my brick wall for many years. HELP !!!!!!!
ANY ideas, thoughts, etc? I'll try 'um all.......

My "current" Perkins brick wall (I started over from scratch) is MARTHA
ELIZABETH PERKINS, born in either MS or AL around 1845.  She married THOMAS R. NOE in 1861.  They lived most of their married life in what is now Lamar County, AL near the community of Pine Springs just south of Detroit, AL.
Martha's parents were first believed to be SAMUEL and MAHALA PERKINS who owned land and lived very near where Martha and Thomas did.  A cousin has also theorized that Martha's parents could be JOHN and NANCY PERKINS of Tippah County, MS as Martha and Thomas Noe were married there.  The only thing I know for sure are Martha and Thomas' children who included:
SAMUEL "DUGAN" NOE b. 1863, married Frances Walls, then Mary Young
JESSE LEE NOAH b. 1865, married Mary "Ida" Davis
MARGARET S. NOE b. 1868, married C.D. Weaver
REBECCA "ANN" NOE b. 1869, married James Thomas Turman
(Noes and Turmans got along real well!) This is my line.
MARY LOUELLA NOE (Dump) b. 1870, married Milton A. Turman (See what I mean?)
THOMAS SHAFER NOE b. 1872, married Aquilla Lee Turman
(Yet another example of the camaraderie.)
NANCY LURENE NOE b. 1874, married David Robert Loggains (later changed to Loggins)
JOSEPH M. NOE (Joe) b. 1875, married Arvilla Gilbert
(Gilberts did NOT get along with Noes, there were gun-toting feuds.)GEORGE NOE b. 1877
DESSIE JANE NOE b. 1880, married W.E. (Mant) Stanford JOHN MICAJAH NOAH (Cager) b. 1882, married Sular Cabler of Arkansas
JAMES ROBERT NOAH (Poole) b. 1885, married Almeda Conway and Minnie Lee
Ramer (oh, not at the same time!)
IDA BELLE NOE b. 1888, married William Terry Johnson
