VAN SLYKE CEMETERY

Transcribed by Barbara Jarvis

This cemetery has sometimes been known as Spring Hill.   It is located northwest of Gainesville.   At Lindsey, take FM 1199 north 4.8 miles to CR 446 (left) and drive nine-tenths mile to 453 (rt).   Van Slyke is located a half mile on the right side of the road.   It is abandoned but appeared to be mowed at the time I visited it.   There are many lost graves with a discouraging number of footstones heaped against a tree which may help in future identification later.
